ASTELCO Systems is your partner for professional astronomical telescopes and related accessories of any kind. To the benefit of research teams all over the world, ASTELCO designs, develops, builds and services advanced mechanical and optical systems, special instrumentation and dedicated software as well as enclosures, domes and towers. ASTELCO is committed to quality, reliabilty and close connection to science.
ASTELCO has designed a series of alt-az telescopes from 0.6m to 1.4m aperture, as well as a series of 0.4 to 0.6m telescopes that can be operated on a universal mount in either alt-az, alt-alt or equatorial mode, reflecting the needs of special applications. All designs use industry-leading, state-of-the-art technology. Rather than using old-fashioned style or technique, many details of ASTELCO's telescopes have been re-designed "from scratch", using latest components and technology available to make them more reliable, more stable and more effective in every day's operation. ASTELCO's design studies for advanced robotic alt-az telescopes in the aperture range of 2.0m to 3.0m have been completed late 2006 and will lead to the construction of a 2.5m telescope in 2007-2009.

ASTELCO's genuine operating software was carefully developed over years, putting together own experiences of the past 15 years, as well as valuable input from scientists of observatories around the world. It guarantees flawless operation and permits user-defined access to allow researchers to add own functionality. Multi-layer software architecture permits optimum performance on all levels with easy, remote-access error handling.
ASTELCO Systems is engaged only in telescopes and related technology as the main business. The entire ASTELCO team consists of people that have been involved with astronomy for a very long time. ASTELCO's software engineers have decade-long experience in telescope control.

"We understand ourselves as one of the many arms of scientific research, listening to scientists and providing them with what they need to achieve their goals. Many of our projects are requests from the astronomical community, which we turn into ready-to-buy products." - Peter Aniol, Managing Director |
