2.1m Cherenkov TelescopeThis interesting application is one of the leading science projects in the field of verifying the cosmic Cherenkov radiation when it is reflected in the earth's atmosphere and translated into lower-energy photons between 300nm and 600nm with a peak at 360nm. This telescope is the first inexpensive, high-efficiency device in this field. The telescope's structure, instrumentation and operation needed to be optimized to capture this very faint "stray light". Typical integration times are 8 to 12 hours. |
